청소년의 우울이 학업 무기력에 미치는 영향: 스마트폰 의존도와 학업 열의의 이중매개효과

Impact of Depression on Academic Helplessness in Adolescents: Dual Mediating Effects of Smartphone Dependency and Academic Enthusiasm

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 우울, 스마트폰 의존도, 학업 열의 및 학업 무기력 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 청소년의 우울과 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 스마트폰 의존도와 학업 열의의 이중매개효과를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2018년 한국 아동⋅청소년 패널조사 5차년도 데이터 중 중학교 1학년 학생 자료 총 2,243명의 자료를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석하기 위해 SPSS 21.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, Pearson의 상관관계분석, 상대적 영향력을 살펴보기 위한 중다회귀분석, SPSS Macro를 이용하여 이중매개효과 분석 및 이중매개 효과 유의성 검증을 위한 부트스트래핑을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 학업 무기력을 설명하는 변인은 학업 열의, 우울, 스마트폰 의존도 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 우울과 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 스마트폰 의존도와 학업 열의는 이중매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between adolescent depression, smartphone dependency, academic enthusiasm, and academic helplessness. Additionally, the study aims to confirm the dual mediating effect of smartphone dependence and academic enthusiasm in the relationship between adolescent depression and academic helplessness. For this purpose, data from 2,243 first-year middle school students were utilized from the 5th year of the 2018 Korean Children and Adolescent Panel Survey. To analyze the collected data, we utilized SPSS 21.0 and conducted various statistical analyses, including frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis to examine relative influences, and employed SPSS Macro for double mediation analysis. Bootstrap analysis was conducted to verify the significance of the double mediation effect. The main findings of this study are as follows. Firstly, the variables explaining academic helplessness in adolescents appeared in the order of academic enthusiasm, depression, and smartphone dependency. Secondly, in the relationship between adolescent depression and academic helplessness, smartphone dependency and academic enthusiasm were found to have a dual mediating effect. Based on the research results, Based on the research results, limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.
