A case study on the effects of family art therapy on decreasing mother and daughter' s depression

This case study is to present the effects of family art therapy on decreasing a degree of mother and daughter' s depression. Two children participating m this study, Child A and B are siblmgs who are 6 and 8-yeai·-old. A younger sister have some difficulties of verbal functioning. Their family are also invited in therapy session. Her mother who divorced, were so depressed with problems with mothers-in-law and her husband. The therapy is consisted of 10 sessions. The focusing techniques are to express child emotion through art activities and to facilitate interaction between family members and children. There are many positive changes of their mother' s role, and a degree of mother and children's depression. The difficult verbal functioning of younger sister are improved. Thus it suggested that family art interventions can be practically useful.
