유아의 이야기꾸미기와 창의성이 비판적 사고에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Young Children’s Storytelling Abilities and Creativity on Critical Thinking

본 연구는 유아의 이야기 꾸미기와 창의성이 비판적 사고에 비치는 영향에 대해 분석하고자 했다. 연구대상은 강원지역 유치원에 재원 중인 357명을 연구대상으로 하여 자료를 수집했다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 28 통계 프로그램을 통해 단계적 투입 방식의 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 유아의 언어능력, 창의성, 및 비판적 사고 간에는 통계적으로 의미있는 정적인 상관관계가 있었다. 둘째, 유아의 언어능력과 창의성은 비판적 사고를 예언하는 것으로 언어능력과 창의성의 순으로 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 유아의 비판적 사고 교육의 중요성을 제안함과 동시에 비판적 사고 교육의 방법이 언어능력 향상과 창의성의 개발과 같은 방법을 통해서 이루어질 수 있음을 보여주었다. 특히 유아 비판적 사고 교육의 다양한 방안을 시사하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.

This study examined the effects of young children’s storytelling abilities and creativity on critical thinking. The participants were 357 kindergarten children in the Gangwon region of South Korea. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 28. The results showed significant positive correlations among storytelling abilities, creativity, and critical thinking. Both storytelling abilities and creativity were significant predictors of critical thinking, with storytelling abilities having stronger explanatory power. These findings suggest that linguistic competence provides a crucial foundation for the development of critical thinking in early childhood. Overall, the study emphasizes the importance of fostering critical thinking through approaches that enhance children’s storytelling abilities and creativity, offering practical implications for early childhood education.
