대학생의 경험 중심 교육과정 참여경험에 관한 질적 연구: 경험학습이론을 중심으로

A Qualitative Study on the Participation Experience of University Students in Experience-Centered Curriculum: Focused on Experiential Learning Theory

본 연구의 목적은 경험학습이론을 적용하여 대학생의 경험 중심 교육과정 참여경험을 질적으로 분석함으로써 효과적인 경험학습 환경 설계와 학습자 성장 지원을 위한 교육과정 개선의 기초자료를 생성하는데 둔다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 표적집단면접을 통해 자료를 수집하여 연역적 접근의 질적 내용분석을 수행했다. 연구참여자는 A대학교에서 경험 중심 교육과정에 참여한 대학생 10명이다. 연구 결과로 4개 주범주, 12개 하위범주, 54개 개념이 형성되었다. 대학생의 경험 중심 교육과정 참여경험은 ‘좀 부족해도 왔다갔다 빡박하게 스스로 더불어 가치 있게 경험하기’, ‘내외부적 상황 속에 공부하고 성찰하며 향상된 직업의식 일상생활로 전이하기’, ‘깊은 이해 바라며 배움이 종합된 개발 등 해봄으로써 내 스타일 만들기’, ‘한계 속에 부딪혀보고 도와주면서 스타일대로 생각과 역량 키우기’로 의미화되었다. 본 연구의 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 경험 중심 교육과정 참여경험을 질적으로 탐구해봄으로써 실제 교육의 현장에서 경험학습이 어떻게 구현되고 대학생들에게 어떤 의미와 변화를 가져오는지 심층적으로 이해할 수 있었다. 둘째, 경험학습이론의 이론적 틀로 연역적 접근의 질적 내용분석을 수행함으로써 교육과정 연구의 유용한 접근 방법을 제시할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to qualitatively analyze university students' experiences of participating in an experience-centered curriculum by applying experiential learning theory, thereby generating basic data for designing an effective experiential learning environment and improving the curriculum to support learner growth. To achieve this goal, this study collected data through focus group interviews and conducted a deductive qualitative content analysis. The participants were ten university students who participated in an experience-centered curriculum at University A. The results of the study identified four major categories, twelve subcategories, and 54 concepts. The participation experience of university students in the experience-based curriculum was defined as ‘having valuable experiences by going back and forth on their own even if it was a bit lacking’, ‘studying and reflecting in internal and external situations and transferring the improved professional awareness to daily life’, ‘creating my own style by trying out development that integrated learning in hopes of deep understanding’, and ‘developing thoughts and capabilities in my own style by encountering limitations and helping others’.
