Purpose: This study examined the effects of effect of acculturation stress, self esteem of multicultural mothers on school adjustment of multicultural adolescents. Methods: As a secondary analysis research using data of the 16th (2016) Youth Health Behavior Survey, this study selected a total of 937 middle school students and 937 mothers from multicultural families. Using SPSS/WIN 20.0 Program, collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé’s test, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, stepwise multiple regression. Results: Mean score for school adjustment of multicultural adolescents was 3.05 out of 4 point. School adjustment explanatory power of the model was in multicultural adolescents 4.0% of the variance in self esteem of multicultural mothers(b=.074, p =.048). Conclusion: Research results suggest that self esteem of multicultural mothers are important on school adjustment of multicultural adolescents. It is necessary to develop and implement programs to promote self-esteem of mothers from multicultural families and to develop strategies to promote school adaptation through integrated research on various factors affecting school adaptation of adolescents from multicultural families.
