포스트 휴머니즘 ‘한류학’의 교육철학으로서 지식생태학

Knowledge Ecology as an Educational Philosophy of Posthumanist “Korean Wave Studies”

한류는 엔터테인먼트 콘텐츠가 주를 이루며 이 안에서 나타나는 한류 콘텐츠로서 가상인간은 향유자의 인식구조에 포스트 휴머니즘을 불러일으킨다. 앞으로 한류의 확산세는 더욱 가파를 것으로 예상되며 이에 따라 한류 콘텐츠를 가르치는 대학이 많아지고 있어 한류학이 대표적인 포스트 휴머니즘 학문이 될 소지가 높다. 가상인간과의 공간은 기존의 교육철학이 접근하지 못하는 새로운 영역이다. 본 연구는 기술에 의한 가상성이 촉발한 한류 콘텐츠로서 가상인간 캐릭터 수용 과정을 관찰하고 분석하여 한류학의 교육철학으로 지식생태학이 적합한지를 고찰한다. 이를 위해 1990년대부터 2025년에 출현한 가상인간의 특징을 분석했다. 연구 결과 가상인간은 현실인간을 최대한 모사한 유사인간으로 시작해서 서사성을 부여해 인간성을 물화한 애니메이션 가상인간까지 다양한 모습으로 현실 인간계에 섞이게 되었음을 발견했다. 이들을 향유하는 모습에서 포스트 휴머니즘의 양상이 발견되었고, 이는 가상인간의 진화에서 보이듯이 인공지능과 첨단 미디어 기술이 일상에 적극적으로 활용되면서 한류 콘텐츠의 상당 부분을 차지하는 디지털 영상에 의한 가상-현실 경계의 해체와 대상과의 관계 정립 갱신이 나타난 결과다. 따라서 한류 콘텐츠를 향유하는 영역은 현실인간 누구나 가상인간이 될 수 있는 기표-기의 전복의 공간성이라는 특징을 지니며 이안에 내재한 분산된 주체성을 가르치기 위해서는 생태계적 체화인지를 포섭하는 지식생태학을 한류학의 교육철학으로 설정할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 단순히 한류학에만 국한되지 않고, 포스트 휴머니즘 시대에 교육철학으로 지식생태학이 기여할 역할이 많이지고 있음을 보여주는 하나의 사례라고 할 수 있다.

The Korean Wave is primarily comprised of entertainment content, and within this content, virtual humans bring about changes in the cognitive structures of those who enjoy them. The spread of Korean Wave is expected to accelerate, and with the rise of universities teaching Korean content, Korean Wave studies has the potential to become a representative posthumanist discipline. The space with virtual humans represents a new realm that educational philosophy has not yet explored. This study observes and analyzes the process of accepting virtual human characters triggered by technological virtuality, and examines whether knowledge ecology is appropriate as an educational philosophy for Korean Wave studies. To this end, this study analyzed the characteristics of virtual humans that emerged from the 1990s to the 2020s. The research results revealed that virtual humans have been blending into the real human world in various forms, starting from pseudo-humans that imitate real humans as much as possible, to animated virtual humans that have been given narrative and have embodied humanity. In the way they are enjoyed, aspects of posthumanism arediscovered. This is a result of the dissolution of the virtual-reality boundary and the renewal of the relationship with the subject through digital images, which account for a significant portion of Korean Wave content, as artificial intelligence and cutting-edge media technologies are actively utilized in daily life, as seen in the evolution of virtual humans. Therefore, the area where Korean Wave content is enjoyed has the characteristic of a spatiality of signifier-signified subversion where any real human can become a virtual human. In order to teach the distributed subjectivity inherent in this, it is necessary to establish knowledge ecology that embraces ecological embodied cognition as the educational philosophy of Korean Wave studies. The results of this study are not limited to Korean Wave studies, but serve as an example of the significant contribution that knowledge ecology can make as an educational philosophy in the posthumanist era.
