교직논술 지도가 예비교사의 교직논술 쓰기 효능감에 미친 영향 -WMS(Wriring Mindset Scale) 분석을 중심으로-

The Effect of Instruction in Teacher Essay Writing on Pre-service Teachers’ Writing Self-efficacy — Focusing on the Analysis of the Writing Mindset Scale (WMS) —

이 연구의 목적은 교직논술 지도가 예비교사의 교직논술 쓰기 효능감(writing self-efficacy)에 미친 영향을 실증적으로 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 Hoeve(2021)가 제안한 Writing Mindset Scale(WMS)을 교직논술 교육의 맥락에 맞게 수정·보완하여 적용한다. 연구 대상은 2025학년도 1학기 G 교육대학교 「작문교육과 교직논술」수업에 참여한 예비교사 28명이며, 교직논술 교육 전과 후의 변화를 양적·질적으로 비교·분석한다. 분석 결과, 교직논술 교육 전 학생들은 글쓰기를 타고난 능력에 의존하는 것으로 인식하여 낮은 효능감을 보였다. 그러나 교직논술 교육 후에는 긍정적 자기 언어 형성, 실패의 학습적 수용, 사회적 비교의 긍정적 전환, 피드백 리터러시 함양을 통해 전반적인 효능감이 유의미하게 강화되었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 교직논술 수업이 단순한 논술 기술의 습득을 넘어 예비교사의 자기 신념과 학습 태도를 변화시키는 성장 중심의 교육적 장치로 기능함을 명확히 보여준다.

The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the effect of teacher essay writing guidance on pre-service teachers' writing self-efficacy. For this, the Writing Mindset Scale (WMS) proposed by Hoeve (2021) was revised and applied to fit the context of pedagogical essay instruction. The study participants were 28 pre-service teachers enrolled in the 'Writing Education and Teacher Essay Writing' course at G National University of Education during the first semester of 2025. Changes before and after the essay guidance were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The analysis results showed that prior to the guidance, students exhibited low self-efficacy, perceiving writing as dependent on innate ability. However, after the guidance, overall self-efficacy was significantly enhanced through the formation of positive self-talk, the productive acceptance of failure, the positive redirection of social comparison, and the cultivation of feedback literacy. This finding clearly demonstrates that teacher essay writing instruction functions as a growth-centered educational device that transforms pre-service teachers' self-beliefs and learning attitudes, moving beyond the mere acquisition of essay writing techniques.
