메타버스 윤리교육과 정보과 교육과정의 연계 분석

The Direction and Method of Metaverse Ethics Education in Relation to the Informatics Curriculum

본 연구는 메타버스가 새로운 디지털 생태계로 부상하는 현상에 주목하여, 이 변화가 정보과 교육과정의 윤리·디지털 시민성 영역에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이에 대응하는 메타버스 윤리교육의 방향을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 메타버스 산업은 아직 초기 단계이지만, 미래 세대는 이러한 환경을 일상적으로 경험하게 될 것이므로 학교교육의 선제적 대응이 필요하다. 코로나19·언택트 사회는 기존 온라인 수업방식의 한계를 드러냈고, 그 대안으로 메타버스를 활용한 미래지향적 학습환경의 필요성이 부각되었다. 특히 본 연구는 메타버스 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 주요 윤리적 문제와 교육내용을 정리하고, 온라인·오프라인 메타버스 윤리교육 방안, 그리고 기존 정보윤리교육과의 연속성 및 통합 가능성을 분석하였다. 또한 2022 개정 교육과정이 강조하는 디지털 시민성·정보윤리 성취기준과의 연계를 검토하여, 메타버스 윤리교육의 학교 현장 적용 가능성을 제고하고자 하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 정보과 교육과정 관점에서 메타버스 자체에 대한 윤리 이해와 메타버스를 매개로 한 윤리교육의 가능성을 함께 확장해야 함을 강조한다. 이는 미래 세대가 디지털 환경에서 책임 있게 행동하고 성숙한 시민성을 기르는 데 기여할 것이다.

This study examines the educational implications of the emerging metaverse and analyzes its relevance to the ethics and digital citizenship components of the 2022 revised Informatics curriculum in Korea. Although the metaverse industry and its educational use remain in an early developmental stage, future learners are expected to engage with immersive digital environments on a daily basis, making proactive educational preparation essential. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed limitations of traditional online instruction, thereby increasing the demand for future-oriented learning environments such as the metaverse. This study identifies key ethical issues that arise within metaverse environments and organizes corresponding elements of metaverse ethics education. It further proposes online and offline instructional approaches and explores how these approaches can be integrated with the existing structure of information ethics education. Additionally, the study analyzes the alignment between metaverse ethics education and the achievement standards of digital citizenship and information ethics in the 2022 Informatics curriculum. Overall, the findings highlight the need to expand both ethics about the metaverse and ethics through the metaverse within the school curriculum. Such an approach can support learners in developing responsible behavior and mature digital citizenship in increasingly immersive digital societies.
