2022 개정 초등학교 1~2학년 ‘즐거운 생활’ 교과서의 국악 교육 보완 방안

A Study on the Improvement Plan for Gugak Education in the Pleasant Life Textbooks for Grades 1–2 under the 2022 Revised Integrated Curriculum

본 연구는 2022 개정 초등학교 1~2학년 통합교과 ‘즐거운 생활’ 교과서의 국악교육 현황을 분석하고, 그 문제점을 보완하기 위한 실천적 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 교과서에 수록된 35개 국악 제재곡을 대상으로 장르, 악보 표기, 활동 유형, 난이도, 주제 연계성을 분석한 결과, 전래동요와 창작 국악동요 중심의 편중, 악보 표기 미비, 가창 중심의 활동 편중, 발달 단계 부적합 곡의 수록, 주제와 제재곡 간 연계성 부족 등의 문제가 확인되었다. 이에 국악교육의 균형과 실천성을 확보하기 위해 다섯 가지 보완 방향을 제시하였다. 주요 내용은 민요·정가·기악 등 다양한 장르의 참고 악곡 제안, 활동 성격에 따른 악보 표기 체계화, 악기 연주·신체표현·창작 활동의 통합 구성, 발달 단계에 적합한 전래동요 중심의 참고 악곡 제시, 단원 주제에 부합하는 곡과 활동의 재구성이다. 본 연구는 교사들이 교과서 개정 전 과도기적 시기에 활용할 수 있는 국악교육의 실천적 대안을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다.

This study aims to analyze the current state of Gugak (Korean traditional music) education in the Pleasant Life textbooks for Grades 1–2 under the 2022 Revised Integrated Curriculum and to propose practical improvement plans. Thirty-five Gugak pieces included in the textbooks were analyzed in terms of genre, notation, activity type, level of difficulty, and relevance to the unit themes. The analysis revealed several issues, including an overemphasis on traditional and creative Gugak songs, inconsistent or insufficient notation, an imbalance caused by singing-centered activities, the inclusion of songs inappropriate for students’ developmental levels, and a weak connection between unit themes and selected pieces. To address these problems, this study presents five improvement directions to ensure balance and practicality in Gugak education: (1) expanding the range of reference pieces to include various genres such as folk songs, jeongga, and instrumental music; (2) systematizing notation methods according to the type of activity; (3) integrating instrumental performance, physical expression, and creative activities; (4) suggesting reference pieces suitable for the developmental level of lower-grade students focusing on simple traditional songs; and (5) reconstructing pieces and activities that align with unit themes. This study is significant in that it provides teachers with a practical framework for Gugak education that can be applied during the transitional period before textbook revision.
