This study aimed to investigate the hair growth-promoting effects of Rehmannia root extract and microneedling therapy (MTS). Twelve women aged 30-50 with genetic hair loss were randomly assigned into three groups: an experimental group, control group A, and control group B, with four participants in each group. The study was conducted over an 8-week period from August 19 to October 23, 2024. The experimental group received MTS followed by topical application of Rehmannia root extract, while control group A received only MTS and control group B received only the extract. Hair density, hair count per follicle, and hair thickness were assessed at baseline and at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. All parameters showed statistically significant improvement by week 2 compared to baseline. The experimental group exhibited the greatest improvement across all indicators. These results suggest that combined treatment with Rehmannia root extract and MTS has synergistic effects on hair growth and hair health. The bioactive components of Rehmannia root extract demonstrated positive clinical effects, supporting its potential as a novel material for promoting hair health. Overall, this study provides foundational evidence for developing safe and effective therapeutic approaches to complement current hair loss treatments.
