청소년이 인식한 부모의 양육태도와 우울 간의 관계: 청소년의 자아존중감의 매개효과

The Relationship Between Adolescents’ Perceptions of Parenting Attitudes and Depression: The mediating effect of adolescents’ self-esteem

본 연구는 부모의 양육태도와 우울의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 한국아동․청소년패널조사 2018(KCYPS 2018)의 4차년도 자료에 해당하는 고등학교 1학년 1,839명을 연구대상으로 설정하였다. 연구가설을 검증하기 위해 SPSS 29.0을 통한 기술통계분석, Pearson의 상관분석을 실시하였고, PROCESS Macro를 활용하여 매개효과에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 분석절차를 통해 도출된 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 따스함, 구조제공, 자율성 지지는 청소년 우울에 유의한 부적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 부모의 따스함, 구조제공, 자율성 지지는 청소년의 자아존중감에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 부모의 따스함, 구조제공, 자율성 지지와 청소년 우울의 관계에서 자아존중감이 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 기반으로 연구의 의의와 한계점, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

Objectives: This study was conducted for the purpose of verifying the mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between the perception of parenting attitude and depression among high school students. Method: To achieve this purpose, the KCYPS 2018 data were used for analysis, and a total of 1,839 first-year high school students were set as subjects. SPSS 29.0 with the Process Macro (Model 4) and bootstrapping was used to test statistical significance of the mediating effect. Results: P: Parental warmth, structure provision, and support for autonomy had significant negative effects on adolescent depression and significant positive effects on adolescents’ self-esteem. Moreover, a mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between parental warmth, structure provision, autonomy support, and youth depression was confirmed. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, the significance and practical implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research were presented.
