세대 간 경계 해체의 가족상담적 이해: 성인기 모자 근친상간에 대한 문헌연구

A Family Counseling Perspective on Intergenerational Boundary Dissolution: A literature review on mother–son incest in adulthood

본 연구는 성인기 모자 근친상간을 가족상담적 관점에서 탐색한 문헌연구이다. 부녀 근친상간과 아동기 근친상간 외상에 초점을 두어 온 기존 연구와 달리, 본 연구는 성인기 모자 근친상간을 구조적, 정서적, 관계적 차원의 가족체계적 틀을 중심으로 분석하였다. 국내외 학술데이터베이스(DBpia, RISS, Google Scholar, PsycINFO)를 활용하여 ‘근친상간’, ‘모자 근친상간’, ‘가족치료’를 주요 검색어로 1980년부터 2024년까지 발표된 국내외 학술문헌 95편을 검색하였으며, 12편을 선정하여 기술적 문헌고찰방식으로 분석하였다. 성인기 모자 근친상간은 가족체계의 구조적 붕괴, 정서적 융합과 분화 실패, 배신 외상과 애착 손상이 중첩된 가족기능 손상의 결과로 나타났다. 이에 구조적 가족치료, Bowen 가족체계이론, 가족 외상 및 애착 관점에서 상담학적 함의를 도출하였다. 상담개입에서는 윤리적 감수성과 역전이 관리, 외상 중심 가족치료의 적용, 경계 재설정이 요구된다.

Objectives: This study examined mother-son incest in adulthood from a family counseling perspective through a literature review. Previous research has largely focused on father-daughter incest and childhood sexual trauma; therefore, this study applied a family systems framework emphasizing structural, emotional, and relational dimensions. Methods: A literature review was conducted using DBpia, RISS, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO. Ninety-five domestic and international studies published between 1980 and 2024 were identified using the keywords “incest,” “mother-son incest,” and “family therapy.” Among them, twelve studies were selected and analyzed using a descriptive review approach. Results: Mother-son incest in adulthood reflected cumulative impairments in family functioning, including collapse of family subsystems, emotional fusion with impaired differentiation, and overlapping experiences of betrayal trauma and attachment disruption. Counseling implications were derived from Structural Family Therapy, Bowen’s Family Systems Theory, and family trauma and attachment perspectives. Conclusions: Results of this literature review suggest that counseling interventions for mother–son incest in adulthood require ethical sensitivity, careful management of countertransference, trauma-focused family therapy, and deliberate boundary restoration to support relational recovery.
