This study develops a theological framework for addressing elder abandonment within contemporary society, focusing on Indian Seventh-day Adventist communities. Using a biblical-theological methodology that integrates covenant theology, Christological analysis, and eschatological hermeneutics, this research examines elder neglect as a theological crisis that requires an ecclesial response. The methodology employs systematic theological analysis grounded in the doctrine of Imago Dei, which affirms the inherent dignity of all persons regardless of age or capacity. The study examines biblical narratives such as Leviticus 19:32 and Isaiah 46:4, connecting Christ's abandonment experience to contemporary elder marginalization through covenant community themes and divine faithfulness. The paper argues that elder abandonment represents a theological rupture and spiritual amnesia violating the Church's covenantal identity. Through biblical texts that emphasize intergenerational responsibility (Exodus 20:12, 1 Timothy 5:4-8), the study demonstrates that elder neglect contradicts Christian identity. The research reveals how individualism and utilitarian values marginalize elderly members who should be valued as wisdom bearers. The key findings emphasize that the elderly, bearing the Imago Dei regardless of physical decline, maintain inherent dignity and vocational significance. The study reframes aging as a continued spiritual vocation, introducing a "theology of abandonment" as a framework for understanding elder isolation through biblical lenses of exile and divine hospitality. The research concludes that Adventist theology provides unique resources for elder care through its holistic ministry and eschatology. This theology transforms the perspective from lament to hope, challenging the Church to embody radical hospitality as eschatological witness.
