금강경봉찬기도 참여자들의 사경 경험 탐색 연구

An Exploratory Study on the Sutra Copying Experiences of Diamond Sutra Devotional Prayer Participants

본 연구는 금강경봉찬기도 참여자들의 사경 경험을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구는 금강경봉찬기도 참여자들 중 사경 경험이 있는 59명을 대상으로 하여, 구조화된 질문지를 활용한 서면 인터뷰를 진행하고 합의에 의한 질적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 금강경봉찬기도 참여자들이 하고 있는 사경에 대해 살펴본 결과, ‘하고 있는 사경 종류’, ‘총 사경 기간’, ‘사경을 하는 시간’, ‘사경을 하는 이유’의 4개 범주에서 42개의 하위범주가 도출되었다. 둘째, 금강경봉찬기도 참여자들이 하고 있는 사경 경험에 대해 살펴본 결과, ‘사경을 통한 느낌’, ‘사경을 통한 생각’의 2개 범주에서 12개 하위범주가 도출되었다. 셋째, 금강경봉찬기도 참여자들이 하고 있는 사경에 대해 살펴본 결과, ‘사경 이후 계획’, ‘이후 하고 싶은 사경’, ‘사경을 더 하고 싶은 이유’의 3개 범주에서 20개 하위범주가 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해 금강경봉찬기도를 통한 사경 수행이 지닌 의미와 실천적 가치를 확인하고 향후 신행 지도와 관련 연구에 유용한 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

This study aimed to explore the experiences of sutra scribing among participants in the Diamond Sutra Praise Prayer. This study targeted 59 participants who had sutra scribing experience. Written interviews were conducted using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using a modified consensus-based qualitative research method. The results of this analysis are as follows. First, examining the sutra scribing practices of the Diamond Sutra Praise Prayer participants yielded 42 subcategories within four categories: “Types of Sutras Practiced,” “Total Duration of Sutra Scribing,” “Time Scribing,” and “Reasons for Sutra Scribing.” Second, examining the experiences of sutra scribing among the participants in the Diamond Sutra Praise Prayer yielded 12 subcategories within two categories: “Feelings Through Sutra Scribing” and “Thoughts Through Sutra Scribing.” Third, as a result of examining the sutra transcriptions practiced by participants in the Diamond Sutra Praise Prayer, 20 subcategories were identified within three categories: “Plans after Sutra Copying,” “Sutra Copying Plans for the Future,” and “Reasons for Further Sutra Copying.” This study is significant in that it confirms the meaning and practical value of sutra copying through the Diamond Sutra Praise Prayer, providing useful baseline data for future spiritual guidance and related research.
