초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모의 입시에 관한 주관성 연구

Parents with Elementary School Children: A Subjective Study on Entrance Examinations

본 연구에서는 Q 방법론을 활용하여 초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모의 입시에 관한 인식유형과 그 특성을 파악하여 분석하고자 하였다. 이에 초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모에게 실시할 입시에 관한 33개의 진술문을 표집한 후, 학부모 각 31명씩을 대상으로 Q-sorting을 실시하였다. 이를 토대로 QUANL PC 프로그램을 사용하여 분석한 결과 초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모에게는 4개의 인식유형으로 드러났다. 이를 살펴보면, 유형 1의 ‘성공= 자녀의만족’형은입시에얽매이지않고자신의 인생에 있어 스스로의 만족이 성공한 삶이라고 인식하였으며, 유형 2의 ‘입시준비= 학부모조언’형은 입시 준비에 있어 자녀와의 대화를 중요시하며 학부모는 자녀의 인생에 조력자가 되어 입시와 진로를 이끌어주어야 한다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 유형 3의 ‘학교교육= 전인추구’형은올바른 가치관을 가지고 민주시민으로 이웃과 더불어 살아가는 것이 성공이라고 인식하였으며, 유형4의 ‘입시= 자녀선택존중’형은입시는자녀삶의한과정이므로입시는자녀의의견을존중하고 지지해주기 위해 자녀와 대화를 중요시하고 있다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 분석하여 유형화한 후 그 특성에 따라 자녀의 입시와 진로에 대한 학부모 교육의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모의 올바른 교육 체계의 구축이 마련되기를 기대한다. 이는 건강한 자녀로 양육하기 위한 학부모의 입시에 대한 이해와 실현을 도울 수 있기 때문이다. 또한 본 연구의 결과를 통해 자녀의 입시를 앞둔 학부모 교육프로그램 개발에 기초자료로 활용되길 기대한다.

This study utilized Q methodology to select the types of private academies for students with school-age children and the choices made, sampled 33 confirmed statements, and analyzed them with 31 students from each academy. The results are as follows. ‘Success = Child’s Satisfaction’ (Type 1) recognizes that a successful life is one in which one is satisfied with one’s own life without being tied down by college entrance exams. ‘College entrance exam preparation = Parents’ advice’ (Type 2) recognizes that parents should be supporters in their children’s lives and guide them in college entrance exams and career paths when preparing for college entrance exams. ‘School education = pursuit of the whole person’ (Type 3) believes that success is living together with neighbors as a democratic citizen with the right values. ‘Entrance exam = respect for children’s choices’ (Type 4) considers entrance exams as a process of children’s lives, and therefore places importance on conversation with children in order to respect and support their opinions. Through this, we hope to establish a proper education system for parents with elementary school children and to use the study as basic data for developing education programs for parents preparing for their children's entrance exams.
