인공지능 활용 세계시민교육 연구의 동향 및 주제 분석

Research Trends and Topic Modeling Analysis of Artificial Intelligence-Integrated Global Citizenship Education

본 연구는 초․중․고․대학생 및 예비․현장 교사를 대상으로 한 인공지능 활용 세계시민교육 분야의 연구 동향과 주요 주제를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2017년부터 2025년 8월까지 발표된 국내 학술 논문 85편을 대상으로 주제범위 문헌고찰과 잠재 디리클레 할당(LDA) 기반 토픽 모델링을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 인공지능 활용 세계시민교육 연구는 2017년 처음 등장해 2020년부터 본격화되었으며, 초기의 이론․개념 중심 연구에서 2021년 이후 교육 프로그램 개발 등 실증 연구로 확대되었다. 전체의 약 68.2%를 차지한 실증연구에서는 초등학생 대상 연구가 가장 많았다. 인공지능 도구 유형별로는 초․중학생 중심의 머신러닝 기반 도구 활용이 두드러졌으며, 생성형 인공지능은 전 학교급과 교사 교육 단계에서 폭넓게 적용되었다. LDA 토픽 모델링 분석 결과, 다섯 개의 주제가 도출되었다: (1) AI를 활용한 글로벌 이슈 탐구 및 디지털 시민성 강화, (2) AI 활용에서의 편향 인식 및 비판적 시민성 함양, (3) AI 기반 활동을 통한 윤리 감수성 함양, (4) AI 기반 SDGs 연계 학습과 책임 실현, (5) AI 융합을 통한 생태․환경 소양 함양. 분석 결과를 종합적으로 고찰하여 향후 연구 및 실천 방향을 제시하였다.

This study analyzes research trends and key themes in artificial intelligence (AI)-integrated global citizenship education (GCE). Eighty-five domestic journal articles published between 2017 and August 2025 were reviewed using a scoping review and LDA based topic modeling. Results show that AI-GCE research first appeared in 2017 and expanded after 2020, shifting from theoretical discussions to empirical studies such as program development. Of these, 68.2% were empirical, mostly at the elementary level. Machine learning tools were frequently used for primary learners, while generative AI was applied across all educational levels. The LDA analysis identified five main topics: (1) AI-supported inquiry into global issues and digital citizenship, (2) recognizing algorithmic bias and fostering critical citizenship, (3) cultivating ethical sensitivity through AI-mediated discussions, (4) AI-enhanced SDGs-related learning and technological responsibility, and (5) promoting ecological and environmental literacy through AI-integrated instruction. These findings reveal both the educational potential and limitations of AI-enhanced GCE, offering insights for future research and practice.
