초등 예비교사의 무용경연 참가 경험에 관한 사례연구

A Case Study on the Experiences of Pre-service Elementary Teachers Participating in a Dance Competition

본 연구의 목적은 초등 예비교사의 무용경연 참가 경험을 사례연구를 통해 심층적으로 탐색하고, 그 과정에서 나타나는 개인적 및 교사적 의미를 규명하는 데 있다. 본 연구의 방법은 사례연구(Case Study)로 문헌 조사와 함께 설문지, 무용경연 요강, 무용경연 신청서 등 다양한 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 본 연구의 참여자는 ‘전국 초등교사 및 예비교사 무용경연’의 예비교사 부문에 참가하여 금상을 수상한 A 교육대학교 치어리딩 군무팀 13명으로 이 중 온라인 설문에 응답한 11명의 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개인적 의미 측면에서 무용경연 참가 경험은 초등 예비교사들이 관심과 도전을 실현하고, 자아실현, 자기효능감, 성취감, 협력적 태도 등을 함양함으로써 개인적 성장의 기반이 되었다. 둘째, 교사적 의미 측면에서 무용경연 참가 경험은 초등 예비교사들이 공연 준비 과정에서 기획, 조직, 협력, 피드백 등을 경험하며, 수업 기획력, 학급 운영 능력, 리더십, 교수⋅학습 설계 역량 등 교사 전문성 함양에 기여하였다. 위의 결과를 바탕으로 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무용경연 참여가 예비교사의 자기주도성, 성취감, 협력 경험 등에 미치는 효과를 보다 명확히 이해하기 위해 개인 배경에 따른 비교 연구와 종단연구를 수행할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 무용경연 경험이 실제 수업 기획, 학급 운영, 협력적 지도 역량으로 어떻게 전환되는지를 분석하는 교사 전문성 발달 연구가 요구된다.

This study aimed to explore pre-service elementary teachers’ experiences participating in a dance competition through a case study, focusing on personal and professional meanings. Data were collected from questionnaires and related documents. The participants were 13 members of a cheerleading group dance team from University A of Education, who won the gold medal in the National Dance Competition for Elementary Teachers and Pre-service Teachers. Online questionnaires yielded responses from 11 members. Findings revealed that a) personally, participation offered opportunities for self-realization, self-efficacy, achievement, and cooperative attitudes, providing crucial foundation for personal growth; b) professionally, the experience contributed to teacher development by enhancing skills in lesson planning, classroom management, leadership, and instructional design through planning, organizing, collaborating, and giving feedback. Based on these, the following suggestions must be considered. First, to better understand the effects of dance competition participation on pre-service teachers’ self-directed learning, sense of achievement, and collaborative experiences, comparative studies based on individual backgrounds and longitudinal research are needed. Second, teacher professional development must be analyzed how dance competition experiences translate into actual lesson planning, classroom management, and collaborative instructional competencies.
