연극치료에서의 꿈 작업 프로그램 연구 –신체와 즉흥극을 중심으로-

Study on Dream Work Programs in Drama Therapy -Focusing on the Body and Improvisational Theater-

연극치료에서의 꿈 작업은 꿈이라는 상상의 극치를 ‘지금-여기-몸’이라는 현실에서 만날 수 있다. 또한 신체와 즉흥을 활용해 꿈의 상징을 살아있는 형태로 경험할 수 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 꿈의 상징을 체험하고 그 의미와 에너지를 통합하는 데 있어 적합한 신체적 접근법과 극적 형식으로 신체 조각상과 역할 즉흥극을 제안하며 꿈 작업과의 연관성을 밝히고자 한다. 또한 이러한 구성요소를 활용한 연극치료에서의 꿈 작업 프로그램에 관하여 고찰한다. 본 프로그램의 구성 요소는 신체로 표현하는 꿈 상징, 꿈 역할간의 대화를 통한 특성 및 관계 명료화, 꿈 역할 통합의 과정인데 이를 구현하는 연극치료 기법으로 신체 조각상, 역할 연기, 즉흥극을 활용한다. 신체 조각상은 꿈의 상징을 몸의 특정한 형태로 압축하여 표현하며 치료사는 꿈의 역할 간 관계에서 드러나는 참여자의 내적 갈등을 즉흥적 개입을 통해 중재하는데 이는 함께 꿈 역할 통합으로 나아가는 과정이라고 볼 수 있다.

Dream work in drama therapy allows the peak of fantasy represented by dreams to be encountered in the “here –and –now - body” of reality. By using the body and improvisation, dream symbols can be experienced in a living form. This study examines suitable bodily approaches and dramatic structures for experiencing dream symbols and integrating their meaning and energy, proposing body sculptures and role improvisation as methods and identifying their relevance to dream work. It also reviews a dream-work program in drama therapy that incorporates these components. The components of the program include bodily expression of dream symbols, clarification of characteristics and relationships through dialogue between dream roles, and the process of integrating dream roles. The drama therapy techniques used to implement these components are body sculptures, role play, and improvisation. Body sculptures compress and express dream symbols through specific bodily forms, and the therapist mediates the participant’s internal conflicts revealed in the relationships among dream roles through spontaneous interventions, which can be seen as a process of moving toward dream-role integration.
