학령인구 감소에 대응하는 학교 교육의 방향: 경북지역의 인식 및 요구 조사를 중심으로

Direction of School Education in Preparation for the Decline in School-Age Population in South Korea -Based on a survey in the Gyeongbuk Region-

본 연구는 학령인구 감소라는 시대적 변화 속에서 학교 교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하고자, 학생, 교사, 학부모 등 교육 주체의 인식과 요구를 실증적으로 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 경북 지역의 학생, 학부모, 교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 대응표본 t검정, Borich 요구도 분석, IPA 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 세 집단은 개별화 학습과 1수업 다교사제 도입 등 미래지향적인 교육 방향에는 공통적으로 높은 인식을 보였으나, 주체별 요구 항목은 상이하게 나타났다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로, 학령인구 감소에 효과적으로 대응하기 위한 교육 방향을 제언하였다. 첫째, 학생의 능력과 진로를 반영하는 개별화 학습으로 교육과정을 개선하여야 한다. 둘째, 교원 자격과 학제 유연화 등 교육적 요구에 부응하는 제도적 정비가 필요하다.

This study examined how school education should address the contemporary challenge of a declining school-age population in South Korea. A survey was conducted with students, parents, and teachers in the Gyeongbuk region, and the data were analyzed using paired-samples t-tests, Borich needs assessment, and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). The results indicated that all three groups shared high awareness of future-oriented educational directions, while their specific needs differed by stakeholder group. Based on these findings, several directions for effectively responding to the decline in the school-age population are suggested: strengthening cooperative systems with the local governments, improving the curricula toward personalized learning, refining institutional frameworks to meet emerging educational demands, and conducting further comparative research across regions.
