Purpose: This study aimed to classify types of job performance among community health practitioners in Gyeongnam and to identify the factors influencing their distribution. Methods: A survey of eighty-eighty practitioners was conducted using a modified Public Health Worker Job Analysis Tool with four domains, fifteen elements, and ninety-four items. Responses from the “Primary Care” and “Health Program and Promotion” domains were analyzed using K-means cluster analysis, producing five performance categories. Differences in individual and regional characteristics were tested using the chi-squared test. Results: Five job performance types emerged: Integrated, Primary care-dominant, Health promotiondominant, Balanced, and Fundamental. The most common was health promotion (36.4%), followed by balanced (22.7%), fundamental (21.6%), integrated (10.2%), and primary care-dominant (9.1%). Regional factors-the elderly population ratio, access to medical institutions by public transportation, and per capita spending on health promotion-showed statistically significant differences across the categories, whereas individual characteristics showed no significant differences. Conclusion: These findings highlight the need to reconsider whether primary care in public health clinics adequately meets community needs and how health promotion programs influence practitioners’ work. Although the overall frequency of job performance was low, applying these categories to training programs could strengthen competencies in areas that are likely to become more important as medical and environmental conditions change.
