Gamification has been suggested as a strategy to enhance motivation and engagement in simulationbased nursing education, yet evidence regarding its motivational effects remains inconsistent. This study developed an ADDIE-based gamified simulation program and examined its effects on learning engagement, academic self-efficacy, and nursing knowledge among senior nursing students. A one-group pretest-posttest design was employed with 113 fourth-year nursing students at a university in South Korea. The program was developed using the ADDIE model, incorporating board-game-based prelearning, scenario-based simulation, and debriefing grounded in constructivism and team-based learning. An integrated adult-psychiatric nursing scenario focusing on anaphylactic shock and depression care was implemented over two weeks. Data were collected from August 1 to 10, 2024, and analyzed using paired t-tests. Following the intervention, nursing knowledge significantly increased (t=7.647, p<.001), whereas no significant changes were observed in learning engagement or academic self-efficacy. Participants reported high satisfaction with the program (mean=4.45±0.65). These findings indicate that an ADDIE-based gamified simulation program may effectively enhance nursing knowledge and learner satisfaction. Further controlled studies are warranted to clarify its impact on motivational outcomes and to refine gamification strategies.
