Effects of a Global Nursing Seasonal Program on Self-Leadership, Cultural Competence, and Intercultural Communication Skills among Nursing Students

This study aimed to examine the effects of a global nursing seasonal program on self-leadership, cultural competence, and intercultural communication skills among third-year nursing students by employing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group pretest–posttest approach. The results showed that the experimental group who participated in the program demonstrated significant improvements in all three domains compared to the control group, indicating that the global nursing education program is an effective strategy for strengthening the essential competencies required in international and global healthcare settings. Based on these findings, further qualitative studies are needed to explore and understand in greater depth the factors influencing nursing students’ global competencies, and replication studies including participants from diverse regions and educational contexts are recommended to enhance the generalizability and validity of the results.
