The Experience of Hope of Women Nursing Students Who Started Studying Late: Parse’s Research Method

This study is to understand the meaning and discover the structure by examining the experience of hope of women nursing students who started studying late. I applied a qualitative research method based on Parse’s research method, and the research process included dialogical engagement, extraction-synthesis, and heuristic interpretation. Participants in the study were students of a nursing department located in J-do, and 10 women students aged 30 or older. The structure confirmed through the analysis is, ‘The experience of hope of women nursing students who started studying late is the driving force of a new challenge and the process of making a ceaseless effort to be a proud nurse in support of precious relationships under realistic constraints. The results of this research shows that women nursing students who started studying late need to be understood in their side of view, and supported to encourage hope. Therefore, institutions need to support their college life considering the students’ needs, and give them constant attention in their career choice.
