The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing infection control self-efficacy among nursing students with clinical practice experience. The participants were 179 nursing students at three universities in D city. Questionnaires including demographics, MDRO infection control self-efficacy, environmental safety awareness for MDRO infection control, MRSA and CRE infection control awareness, and infection related anxiety were utilized. Data were collected from July 7 to 17, 2025, and analyzed using SPSS 25.0 program, including descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. The regression model was statistically significant(F=73.454, p<.001), with environmental safety awareness for MDRO infection control(β=.600, p<.001) and MRSA infection control awareness(β=.175, p=.003) identified as significant predictors, explaining 44.9% of the variance in MDRO infection control self-efficacy. Improving nursing students’ perceptions of environmental safety and awareness of MRSA guidelines may enhance their infection control self-efficacy. The results offer evidence for developing targeted educational strategies to strengthen infection control competencies among nursing students in clinical practice.
