Factors Influencing Intention to Use Artificial Intelligence among Nursing Students: Focusing on Artificial Intelligence Literacy and Artificial Intelligence Ethical Awareness

This study aimed to identify the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) literacy, AI ethical awareness on intention to use AI among nursing students, as well as determining the factors that influence their intention to use AI. A total of 149 nursing students from three universities participated in the study. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression analysis with the SPSS 25.0 program. The factors influencing nursing students’ intention to use AI in the hierarchal multiple regression analysis were intention to participate in AI education (β=.26, p=.001), experience with AI education (β=.24, p=.002), experience of ChatGPT use (β=.21, p=.003), and AI literacy (β=.18, p=.012). The model 3 explained 27.6% of the variance in intention to use AI (F=12.27, p<.001). To enhance intention to use AI, there is a need to develop systematic AI education programs should include a balanced combination of AI-related practical training and ethics education in the nursing curriculum.
