영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 자아존중감이 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향: 양육 관련 변인의 조절효과를 중심으로

The effects of self-esteem of mothers with infants on smartphone overreliance: focusing on the moderating effect of parenting-related variables

본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 자아존중감과 스마트폰 과의존의 관련성을 살펴보고, 이들 간 양육행동, 양육스트레스, 양육효능감의 조절효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국영유아교육⋅보육패널 2차(2023년) 2,104명의 자료를 분석하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS 22.0을 사용하여 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석, 단순 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, PROCESS macro v4.2의 model 1을 사용하여 조절효과를 검증하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 어머니의 자아존중감은 스마트폰 과의존을 부정으로 예측하는 변인으로 작용하였다. 둘째, 어머니의 자아존중감은 양육행동, 양육효능감을 정적으로 예측하며, 양육스트레스를 부적으로 예측하는 변인으로 작용하였다. 셋째, 어머니의 자아존중감이 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향에서 양육행동과 양육효능감의 유의미한 조절효과가 나타나지 않은 반면, 양육스트레스의 조절효과는 통계적으로 유의함을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존과 심리적 변인, 양육 관련 변인에 대한 관련성과 조절 양상을 실증적으로 제시함으로써, 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존을 완화시키고 긍정적인 양육을 수행할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between maternal self-esteem and smartphone overreliance, and to examine the moderating effects of parenting behavior, parenting stress, and parenting efficacy on these factors. To this end, data from 2,104 participants from the 2nd Korean Early Childhood Education and Care Panel(2023) were analyzed. Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and simple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 22.0. Model 1 of PROCESS macro v4.2 was used to verify the moderating effect. The results of the analysis showed that, first, maternal self-esteem negatively predicted smartphone overreliance. Second, maternal self-esteem positively predicted parenting behavior and parenting efficacy, and negatively predicted parenting stress. Third, while parenting behavior and parenting efficacy did not show a significant moderating effect on the influence of mothers' self-esteem on smartphone overreliance, the moderating effect of parenting stress was statistically significant. In conclusion, this study is meaningful in that it sought to find ways to alleviate mothers' smartphone overreliance and promote positive parenting by empirically presenting the relationship and moderating aspects of mothers' smartphone overreliance, psychological variables, and parenting-related variables.
