Purpose: This cross-sectional descriptive study examined the levels of ethical sensitivity, compassion competence, personcentered communication competence, and person-centered care among oncology nurses and identified the factors influencing person-centered care. Methods: Data were collected from 170 oncology nurses who had at least six months of clinical experience at two tertiary hospitals in B Metropolitan city between July 5 to August 16, 2024. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the association between ethical sensitivity, compassion competence, and person-centered communication competence and person-centered care among oncology nurses. Results: The average score of ethical sensitivity, compassion competence, and person-centered care were 4.1±0.4, 3.9±0.5, and 4.1±0.5 out of 5, respectively, and personcentered communication competence averaged 4.4±0.7 out of 6. Multivariate regression analysis revealed that the influencing factor of the person-centered care were compassion competence (β=.36, p<.001), person-centered communication competence (β=.33, p<.001), and ethical sensitivity (β=.24, p<.001), and this model’s explanatory power was 70% (F=67.20, p<.001). Conclusion: To facilitate person-centered care among oncology nurses, it is necessary to develop and implement tailored educational and organizational strategies that strengthen compassion competence, ethical sensitivity, and personcentered communication competence.
