가정학의 인간생태학(Human Ecology) 관점 연구의 주제범위 문헌고찰(scoping review)

A Scoping Review of Research on Human Ecology Perspectives in Home Economics

본 연구의 목적은 가정학에서 인간생태학 관점에 대한 이해를 증진하고, 그 특징과 개선점을 규명하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 주제범위 문헌고찰(scoping review) 방법을 적용하여 인간생태학 관점을 활용한 가정학 연구의 특징과 개선점을 탐색하였다. 체계적 절차에 따라 1970년대부터 현재까지 발표된 연구 중 총 64편을 선정하고, 데이터 차트를 작성한 후 가정학의 인간생태학 체계를 적용하여 내용을 분석 및 해석하였다. 문헌 분석의 타당성과 신뢰성 확보를 위해 가정학 교수 2명과 교사 2명의 자문을 받았다. 분석 결과, 인간생태학 관점 연구는 1980년대 전후 등장하여 2000년대에 가장 활발히 이루어졌으며, 2010년대 이후로는 감소하는 추세를 보였다. 선정된 연구들은 인간과 생활환경, 상호관계에 대한 다양한 주제를 다루며, 다층적인 환경 체계와의 상호작용을 다루었다. 가정학 내용 영역별 연구의 결과는 개인과 가족의 문제를 관련된 환경을 체계적이고 통합적으로 접근하는 것이 효과적임을 보여주었다. 그러나 가정학의 내용 영역을 통합적으로 다룬 연구는 없었으며, 향후 연구에서는 영역 간 통합을 통해 가족 문제를 보다 효과적으로 해결할 필요가 있다. 또한 연구마다 인간생태학 개념과 체계에 대한 접근 방식이 상이하여, 가정학 내 개념적 정합성과 연구 방법의 일관성 확보가 요구된다. 이러한 문헌 분석 결과는 가정학이 여전히 일상생활 문제 해결에 중요한 학문임을 보여주며, 생활환경 변화에 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 학문 간 통합이 필요함을 시사한다.

This study examines how human ecology perspectives have been conceptualized and applied in home economics and identifies areas where further theoretical and methodological development is needed. Using a scoping review approach, 64 studies published from the 1970s to the present were systematically selected and analyzed. Data were charted using a human ecology system model widely adopted in the field, and analytic validity was strengthened through consultations with experts in home economics research and practice. Findings show that scholarship employing a human ecology perspective emerged in the early 1980s, grew substantially during the 2000s, and declined after the 2010s. Research topics consistently addressed humans, environments, and their interdependent relationships, emphasizing multilayered ecological interactions. Across content areas, studies demonstrated that incorporating environmental contexts in a systematic and integrative way enhances the discipline’s ability to respond to individual and family issues. Yet, only a limited number of studies bridged multiple content areas, indicating a need for stronger inter-area integration to generate more comprehensive insights. Considerable variation in the conceptualization and application of the human ecology framework suggests that the field would benefit from greater theoretical coherence and methodological alignment. Overall, this review affirms the relevance of home economics in addressing everyday life challenges and underscores the importance of disciplinary integration for responding effectively to rapidly changing living environments.
