중등학교 가정과 교사의 진로교육과 진로연계교육에 대한 인식

Perceptions of Career Education and Career-Linked Education among Secondary School Home Economics Teachers

본 연구는 중등학교 가정과 교사의 진로교육에 대한 인식과 운영 현황을 파악하고, 2022 개정 교육과정에 따라 시행되는 진로연계교육에 대한 인식을 분석하여 가정교과 진로교육 활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 중등학교 가정과 교사 203명을 대상으로 2024년 9월 19일부터 10월 3일 사이에 온라인으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사 내용은 조사 대상자의 일반적 특성과 가정교과 진로교육의 필요성에 대한 인식, 진로교육 운영 현황, 진로연계교육에 대한 인식을 묻는 총 14문항으로 구성되었다. 연구 결과, 대부분의 교사가 가정교과에서의 진로교육 필요성을 높게 인식하였으며, 고등학교 교사가 중학교 교사보다 진로교육의 중요성을 더 강하게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 수업 시수 부족, 자료 및 프로그램의 한계, 행정적 부담이 진로교육 실행의 주요 어려움으로 지적되었다. 진로연계교육 운영에 있어서는 학교급별로 인식 차이가 존재하였으며, 효과적인 운영을 위해 수업 시수 확보, 교사 전문성 강화, 학교 간 협력체계 구축 및 제도적 지원이 필요하다는 점이 제시되었다. 본 연구는 가정과 교사의 진로교육 인식과 실태를 실증적으로 분석하여, 향후 진로연계교육의 정착과 가정교과의 진로교육적 역할 강화를 위한 방향을 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

This study aimed to examine Home Economics (HE) teachers’ perceptions and current practices of career education in secondary schools, and to analyze their awareness of career-linked education implemented under the 2022 Revised National Curriculum. To achieve this, an online survey was conducted with 203 HE teachers in secondary schools nationwide from September 19 to October 3, 2024. The survey included 14 items addressing teachers’ general characteristics, perceptions of the necessity of career education in HEE, the current status of career education practices, and their awareness of career-linked education. The results revealed that most teachers highly recognized the necessity of career education in HE education, with high school teachers showing stronger recognition than middle school teachers. Major difficulties identified in implementing career education included a lack of class hours, limited teaching materials and programs, and administrative workload. Differences were also found in teachers’ perceptions of appropriate timing and methods for career-linked education by school level. The study suggests that securing sufficient instructional hours, enhancing teacher professionalism, establishing cooperative systems between schools, and providing institutional support are essential for effective implementation. These results offer empirical insights into HE teachers’ perceptions and practices, contributing to the development of career-linked education and reinforcing the role of HE education as a core subject in career education.
