어머니 심리적 통제와 초기 성인기 데이트폭력 피해의 관계: 성인애착의 매개효과

The Relationship Between Maternal Psychological Control and Dating Violence Victimization in Emerging Adulthood: The Mediating Effects of Adult Attachment

본 연구는 어머니의 심리적 통제가 초기 성인기 자녀의 데이트폭력 피해와 어떠한 관계를 가지는지 살펴보고, 이 관계에서 불안정 성인애착의 두 차원인 애착불안과 애착회피의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 현재 연인관계에 있거나 과거 연인관계를 경험한 성인 279명의 자료를 분석하였다. 주요 변인 간의 관계를 확인하기 위해 상관분석을 실시하고, 구조방정식모형을 활용하여 어머니의 심리적 통제, 애착불안, 애착회피 및 데이트폭력 피해 간의 구조적 관계와 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 어머니의 심리적 통제는 애착불안과 애착회피를 모두 유의하게 정적으로 예측하였으며, 데이트폭력피해에도 유의한 직접효과를 나타냈다. 반면 애착불안과 애착회피가 데이트폭력 피해에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았으며, 어머니의 심리적 통제가 애착불안과 애착회피를 통해 데이트폭력 피해에 영향을 미치는 간접효과 역시 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 심리적 통제 경험이 초기 성인기 자녀의 불안정한 애착 특성 및 데이트폭력 피해와 관련될 수 있으나, 심리적 통제와 데이트폭력 피해 간의 관계가 불안정 성인애착만으로 설명되지는 않을 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 데이트폭력 피해를 이해하고 예방하기 위해 초기 가족관계와 함께 개인 내적 및 관계적 요인을 통합적으로 고려할 필요성을 논의하였다.

This study examined the relationship between maternal psychological control and dating violence victimization among emerging adults and tested the mediating effects of two dimensions of insecure adult attachment: attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance. Data were collected from 279 adults who were currently involved in or had previously experienced a romantic relationship. Correlation analyses were conducted to examine associations among the study variables, and structural equation modeling was used to test the structural relationships among maternal psychological control, attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, and dating violence victimization, as well as the indirect effects of the two attachment dimensions. The results showed that maternal psychological control significantly and positively predicted both attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance and had a significant direct effect on dating violence victimization. However, neither attachment anxiety nor attachment avoidance significantly predicted dating violence victimization, and the indirect effects of maternal psychological control on dating violence victimization through either attachment dimension were not statistically significant. These findings suggest that perceived maternal psychological control may be associated with insecure attachment and dating violence victimization in emerging adulthood, but that the relationship between maternal psychological control and dating violence victimization cannot be fully explained by insecure adult attachment. The findings highlight the need for a more integrative approach that considers both intrapersonal and relational factors, along with early family relationship experiences, in understanding and preventing dating violence victimization.
